I absolutely love stumbling upon these charming house-shaped shelves while thrifting! 🛍️✨ A few years back, I was setting up a special room for my oldest granddaughter, who was head over heels for dollhouses and miniature toys. 🏠💕 I decided to transform one of these shelves by painting the interior a delightful soft pink 🎨💖 and the exterior a crisp white. It turned out to be a fabulous way to showcase her adorable trinkets and doubled as a play area. 🎉 She adored it so much that she wanted one for her own house! 🏡 Even now, as she's grown older, she still treasures it, using it to display her collection of cool rocks, shells, and lip gloss. 💎🐚💄 It would also make the cutest "parking garage" for a little boy who's crazy about matchbox cars! 🚗💨

The total cost was just $5 for the shelf, plus some leftover house and craft paint I already had. 💰🖌️

Although I've never visited Mexico, I truly appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of these feather art birds. With their #bohemian, tropical, and eclectic vibe, I can envision them adding a vibrant touch to a room without being overpowering. Feathers, in historic Mexican culture were considered to have magical properties as symbols of fertility, abundance, riches and power and those who used them were associated with divine powers.

For her, it's the penguin ice bucket 🐧🥂. For me, it's this heart print from Home Interior's circa early 90s. 🖼️ I see it everywhere! I even had it in two of my apartment kitchens for years. 🏡

This table has been my holy grail item for months, and now that I've finally found one, it doesn’t fit as perfectly as I’d hoped. Mr. Thrifty suggests I resell it, but I’m committed to making it work. After all, I saved a lot by finding it secondhand. It was listed for $150, but I was able to negotiate to $100 due to a few dings. So, while he was still in bed, I came down and rearranged the furniture. My house has a unique layout, so no arrangement is perfect, but this setup is much better. What do you think?

FINALLY, AN ANSWER TO WHY THE SHELVES ARE EMPTY!

Another week has passed, and the shelves at #Goodwill West (Rohrerstown Rd, Lancaster, PA) remain empty. I believe this marks week 7. I noticed something unusual: a row of gaylords blocked off by black metal shelves. Concerned about a potential closure, I spoke to the manager, who clarified the back-of-store process.

Every Goodwill has a daily quota of items they must price and display to keep the shelves full and prevent backlog in their limited storage area. Typically, there are verbal and written warnings before termination for not meeting this quota. However, this location habitually does not meet that quota and upper management has been hesitant to issue warnings. The manager assured me there is no shortage of donations; in fact, there are so many hard goods that they lack space for the unpriced gaylords, which are now encroaching on the retail area.

Can you imagine all the fabulous treasures those gaylords are hiding?!?
